Very well constructed tourist facility that doesn't seem to get much attention over this side of town. The township has invested well in preserving it's history. Very fascinating.
Beautifully appointed with walkways throughout. This lets you get right up close to the ruins. There are plenty of signs with lots of great information and details the history of the blast furnace. A great spot to take photographs. It has a great accessible car park, public restrooms and picnic tables to make a day of it. Also plenty of open grassy areas for the kids to play on.
Nice historical site with great quality ammenities. Clean surrounds, good parking and well maintained walkways...well worth the visit.
A very well organised location with plenty of parking, an excellent toilet facility, plenty of bins and very nicely placed picnic tables. There is also a drinking water outlet and the location is very well maintained. There are also caged ballast hedges around the car park which add character to the location.It is about a 2 hour drive from Sydney. It is a very nice drive with steep hills, hairpin corners and fantastic scenery. There are plenty of petrol stations along the way as well as motels.The sunset here is amazing as the sun reflects of the old brickwork and rusted metals.There is a top notch railing and footpath system, it looks very nice and at night there is lighting on the footpath and lighting underneath the railings which is tastefully designed.Highly recommended.
Wow. I stopped in for something to do and found myself totally absorbed in this place! The historical photos and information, imposing remaining structures, ample seating and the opportunity to get up close made this a memorable experience that I highly recommend. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
